My One True Love
01/12/04 |
Adoring you from a distance, loving you from afar.
My heart is aching for you, my perfect love, you are.
How I wish I'd find the courage to say the words I feel,
To let you know, to really show, just how my love is real.
I wish I were a poet, to write a verse or two,
A sonnet or a ballad, expressing feelings true.
Alas these words I cannot speak, as shyness is my fate,
To hold you in my arms my love, of this I cannot wait.
Perhaps one day you'll realize, maybe you will see,
The one who loves you most of all, my darling, yes it's me.
I thought of all the men and women who are so shy
but adore someone from afar on Valentines Day.

Your Guiding Light
01/25/04 |
When I was lost on the path of life,
How heavy pressures caused me strife?
Once I saw I knew it right,
My lord I saw your guiding light:
This guiding light I seemed to know,
A certain path I had to go:
Your glow that shines so really bright
My lord I saw your guiding light:
To follow in the glow not stray,
Lord you've shown the perfect way:
Protecting me from trials and plight,
My lord I saw your guiding light:
Caressed by love this light does show,
Live your life for good and know:
Believe in him and life is bright,
My lord I saw your guiding light:
Leave the darkness right behind,
Peace of mind one day will find:
Feel your strength so full of might,
I have seen your guiding light:

Nature's Parade
02/07/04
|
In the distance, the sound of the cannon's fire blasts,
As a parade of the seasons once more go past.
It's the start of yet another New Year.
Goodbye to the old, let's shed a small tear.
A performance of seasons is about to begin,
The doors have just opened; winter's already in.
Dressed in cold darkness, yet warmth lies inside,
Tempting all souls for to sleep far and wide.
A fanfare of colours, church bells will ring,
Bravo, as enters magnificent spring,
With her cascade of flowers, a month of new birth,
The magic of nature ascends from the earth.
Summer will follow, the season at best,
Splendour around us, it's full of pure zest.
Flowers are blooming, tree's in full flow,
Sunshine has helped all these wonders to grow.
As summer steps out with her usual grace,
We see autumn arrive with her beautiful face.
Mature with such wisdom, she puts things away,
Preparing all things for returning one day.
Once autumn has passed and tidied away,
It's now time for winter to come out and play.
How brilliant to have a parade for to view,
Just leave it to nature, she knows what to do.

Missing You
02/23/04 |
What words are these we speak of, to say, "I'm missing you?"
Say these words, you've gone for good, your memory with it to.
When you're loved that someone deeply and know that it's for real,
How can you miss that someone, when in your heart you feel.
I cannot cast a vision to see that someone there,
But when that love you've felt so strong, you know it's them who care.
Perhaps it's slightly selfish, as no-one else can see,
But why will I be missing you? when your always here with me.

To Court A Maiden Fair
03/09/04 |
A glow that hath changed a young maiden's fair face,
The first blossom of love as not know as before,
Sparkling eyes glistening with brightness full of amore.
What beauty portrays from one so sweet, of pink and pure lace,
So coy, the shy flirting smile, and yet adoring such grace.
Many a gent would court one so elegant of this known to be sure.
Introduced to the lady, "good day madam", as he bows to the floor.
Then offer his arm for a stroll in the park then to sit in this place.
Inquiring politely to whom does he speak? Introducing oneself,
"Pray do not think I am far too bold just attracted to you I say.
Step out with me at your leisure madam your company I do seek,
I would court such a treasure, have riches for you'd be my wealth.
Consider being my companion fair maiden and making this my day
My heart is fulfilled as the words I have wished that you speak".

March Winds
03/25/04
 |
  |
Mufflers and mittens, booties and scarves,
A pair of long breeches to cover the calves.
Raincoats all fastened and buttoned up tight,
Clouds cover over, the sky, it's all white.
How this month is so special, the start of the spring,
With many a flower, all beauty to bring.
It's windy and strong, this month of the year,
New beginnings, new growth, birds singing we hear.
Days can be blustery, a flurry of snow,
So March is the start of new things that grow.

Mom
04/09/04 |
Right from just a little girl, my mom and I went shopping,
Together we would talk away, hardly ever stopping.
She'd help me choose my clothes and things, we'd stop to have some tea.
She was my friend and consul and she belonged to me.
I'd tell her all my troubles, she'd listen to my woe,
From birth to adult womanhood, she loved and watched me grow.
Always understanding, a treasure to behold,
She was a special lady who had a heart of gold.
She always seemed to understand the things I tried to do,
When there were things I did't say, I know she really knew.
Her hair was fair and curly, she had a lovely smile,
I'm glad I had her for my mom, to be with me a while.
She had a sense of humour, her company was great,
More than just a mother, to me she was my mate.
Her words and total guidance, not always I agreed,
But now that I'm a mother to, she knew just what I'd need.
She loved my dad and just the same, he loved her back as well,
They're love had blossomed in the war as far as I could tell.
Although I was only child, mom would always say,
Because you are the only one, you'll not be spoilt, no way.
Wasn't I the lucky one, to have a mom so rare?,
Throughout her life, she always was a person who did care.
Not perhaps in money or gifts in vast array,
I thought that I was very rich and loved so much each day.
She had to leave some time ago, her heart got tired and weak,
I understood she had to go, although difficult to speak.
The strength and drive she left me and love in all array,
I share with special people who deserves her love each day.
So when I think of someone, who changed my life, it's true,
My mother did it every day, are you listening mom...love you X

Garden Chores
04/24/04
|
Now the night are much lighter for longer,
As we leave the cold winter behind.
Let's tidy the shed and find all the tools,
Then put summer flowers to bed.
If their beds are made very comfy,
Watch them blossom all summer through,
Lawns need mowing quite often,
Dusted in fresh morning dew.
Plant pots are placed in the garden,
There are masses of buds on the tree's,
Shrubs will soon blaze with colour,
Filled with pollen just right for the bee's,
Baskets and boxes are ready,
Awaiting the full summer glow,
We must get some food for the flowers,
Assisting the splendour to grow.
It's great to look at the garden,
When all of the chores have been done,
To relax for a while in a fresh painted chair,
Enjoying the first summer sun.

Friendship
05/10/04 |
Do we know the moment it happens?
When does it really begin?
How priceless a true friend can be.
Does it happen in merely a second?
Or something that blossoms for years?
How priceless a true friend can be.
That someone who listens with patience?
When troubles and secrets are shared.
How priceless a true friend can be.
A person who laughs along with you.
So important, my mentor and me.
How priceless a true friend can be.
Some stay with you for a lifetime.
Other's you meet for a while.
Do we know the moment it happens?
How priceless a true friend can be.

Poets And Poems
07/09/04 |
Centuries of poets have written fine verse,
Life without poetry would be but a curse.
Portraying creations, adorning ones ears.
Laughter and sadness some deliver to tears.
A symphony of words, a ballad or ode,
Poetic thoughts shared in the right mode.
One sentence adheres that may linger through time,
Not always be famous, yet master's of rhyme.
Imagine the world without poet's we say,
Their words that are written are with us each day.
Poems from masters that stay in our mind,
An anonymous verse is a treasure to find.
All round the world from time long ago,
People have written what we need to know.
Thanks to the poets throughout the land,
Words that are written to help understand.
